20180527 Weekly Update

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful week and has an opportunity to find some enjoyment and peace in the extended holiday weekend.  Rest and relaxation is key as we face challenges and move forward with our goals and passions.  As I continue to work on my creations I hope to connect with others who can benefit from what I have learned over the years.  We all face struggles and it is always worth seeing how others have made it through the same difficulties in life, meaning it is possible for us all to achieve our greatest goals so long as we never give up.  Onwards!

The Instagram post I selected for this week is one I felt worth posting today.  It is about the struggles we face and the light at the end of the tunnel that is always there.  May we all find that light and emerge to brighter days. 😊

Every challenge, obstacle and dark moment will end, revealing a clear path, greater focus and a brighter future. Onwards! +

Facebook often gets bogged down with negativity.  I’ve lost count of the people I’ve blocked because of the negative comments they post in the groups I participate in.  Often they are political in nature despite the forums being on writing or photography and other times the angry posts are just an instigation against someone or some group for no reason other than to spark an argument.

I wish more people would take the time to find what they enjoy and share them rather than try to begin a pointless debate that has no winner.  I can only hope.  The question I highlight this week is one that touched on the dark paths we creatives enter.  I prefer these kinds of questions rather than the ones that lead to arguments.  As usual, I replied with a smile on my face and a song in my heart. 😊

Question: Anyone else find they are continually drawn to the dark side when they write?

My answer: Not me! I try to keep my stories positive and hopeful as my characters face serial killers, personal tragedies, child kidnappers, murders, nightmares that come true and… wait…

Final personal note:  I Concluded Ender’s Shadow and have begun Fahrenheit 451.  It is always an amazing experience to read a classic book with the craft of a master storyteller.  In the coming weeks I will provide an update to the latest book and the expected publication date.  With luck, I can also show the progress charts I use in my work.

Next week, I will start revealing some of the illustrations for the revised Ripples of Mind.  The cover is not the only graphic I have and as my editor slashes away at my efforts, I hope to find a balance between accepting the changes that make me jump for joy and the ones that make me bang my head against the keyboard.  Seriously, my poor little keys can only take so much. 😊

In a couple of weeks I will also begin setting up the video blogs alongside my monthly creative comic vids and daily Instagram posts.  The next phase of my works will include photographs to be used for promoting my books, trailers, web pages and giveaways.  I am working hard and hope everyone else can find their spark inside so as to reach for the future with passion, focus and heart.

Until next week:  Onwards!
