20180311 Weekly Update

A new week is approaching and I am working on the illustrations for Ripples of Mind.  The chapter list has shrunk as I’ve condensed the chapters and merged some scenes, but overall, the book is going well and I am working diligently to have it updated and released before my next Monthly Newsletter.

I’ve been hiking a little more recently and have a plethora of pix for my outdoor collection.  Perhaps one day I’ll have a few albums created in FB to share.  I’ve been getting some questions about my books and their release since I’ve done what I can to hold them while I reformat.  Rest assured, in the coming weeks, almost every book will be available for purchase.  Why “almost”?  I want to give the same treatment that I did to Linked to The Orb.  I’ve got two other books to conclude the series outlined and as it was my first book it is also the most raw and in need of a new cover and additional illustrations.  I loved that book since it was the one that brought me back to writing.  It may take a while, but I intend to give it the full treatment of polishing before letting it drift out into the world again.  My first scifi book.  What a spark it lit inside me.  😊

The workplace drama has slowed down a bit as our weather has been changing. It is hard to get worked up about menial things when so many co-workers are coming down with a bug and the rest of us are scurrying to keep the workload done. Oh, how I long to put in as much time as I spend at my 6am-4pm job with my books someday. The stories I intend to put to print and the projects I have in mind are too numerous to name but I truly hope I can put them into practice in the coming years. Video projects, 3-D printing, Unique Advertisements, Book Trailers and Reader inclusions, just to name a few.

As this last week has progressed, I’ve enjoyed posting my pictures and hard as it may be to choose, the one below is a fave:

Never accept struggles, setbacks or challenges. They are illusions keeping you from breaking the surface of your destiny. Ignore those illusions and break through to claim your dreams. Onwards! +

Of course, Facebook has not been quiet.  Here is my favorite reply to a recent FB post:

Question:  I’m really tired of people who are not writers telling me to “get a real job”.

My answer: I have had to deal with people like that before. Just ignore their comments. I am still working a full-time job while writing and as soon as I can work as a full-time writer, I am taking the leap. Some people cannot see beyond the cage they are living in. The rest of us are waiting for the chance to live without such constraints.

A final personal note:  We are all doing our best in everything we do.  Sometimes we want to take a break and other times we want to put every ounce of energy into our goals.  Life is never kind enough to provide a clear path for each desired outlet.  We must simply keep moving forward and trust that what we feel in our hearts will lead us to our destiny.  May we all reach our goal and I look forward to high-fiving everyone who is at the finish line when I get there.  Onwards! 😊
